In the rural area outside of Nha Trang City, tourists will see rice fields, orchards and cattle grazing. They also get to interact with the local people and visit the pottery making house, sedge mat weaving village, ancient house with bonsai garden, which is 180 years old, and enjoy some fruits and green tea.
The Dien Khanh Citadel, meanwhile, is a military architectural construction built after the Vauban prototype, a popular fortress model of the 17th and 18th centuries in Western Europe. It was the second fortress to be built in Vietnam (the first being Gia Dinh). Thanks to history and nature, the Dien Khanh Citadel is not in very good shape. Its gates, however, are almost untouched. Compared to other citadels and ramparts that were built in the same period (except the citadels in Hue), the Dien Khanh Citadel still maintains a pretty good appearance.
